Getaway on an isaland in the Maldives

In August, last year, my first vacation with the Mrs. on an island in the Maldives.

An empty plane at the crack of dawn was en route to the Maldives, passengers were free to pick an seats and sleep on them.

The next plane was a seaplane that dropped us off in the middle of the water before we were picked up by a boat that took us to Kuramathi island.

The time was frozen on the Island, the pictures taken and those framed in my brain can not be described, and can not be compared to anything I have ever seen before.

A week of relaxation, swimming and reading on the pristine beaches and pools were priceless.

It was worth the wait, living on an island in the Indian Ocean, with nothing but smiles, good food, company, and cloudy skies covering the bright sun and showering us with bursts of warm tropical rain.

Brave, Courageous and bold.
Long live his fame
and long live his glory.
Long may his worthless posts be told.

Glad you had a relaxing time.
I am not that fond of sea. I am, plainly, afraid of it! Won’t mind the beach but swimming or staying close to water is something I need to get-in-grips-with one day!

The pictures are really amazing. Calm yet vivid. They invite you to explore and slowly discover what is beneath the silence. Thanks!

I don’t swim in the sea, a childhood incident in the sea made me scared of standing/swimming in the water.
So, sitting on the beach covered in sea water is OK, other than that. NOPE.
Swimming pools are just fine for me.

It’s an awesome, serene and secluded island, the nearest supermarket is a 15 minute boat cruise to another island.
All in all, an awesome trip. worth every dime.
